Masseria Acquadolce, luxury villa in Puglia

Inside: the living and sleeping areas of Masseria Acquadolce are all on one floor. The imposing entrance hall leads directly to the main living area. The living area is a huge room with tall vaulted ceilings that communicates with the pool and garden via a sequence of bright glazed doors. One half of this area features several sofas, chairs and pouffs arranged in two areas, one by the fire place and the other in front of the large TV. The other half is dedicated to a long dining table dominated by a superb chandelier in intricate metalwork. A door from the dining area takes you to the kitchen which is professionally fitted and equipped, and its adjacent store room complete with capacious refrigerators. The kitchen also opens on one side to the outside dining table beside the pool and on the other to an internal courtyard and herb garden.
Masseria Acquadolce has eight double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. One is accessed directly from the living room and has views of the pool. Another is reached from the main hall, and leads out onto an internal courtyard. A third is in an independent building in front of the pool and directly in front of the main house and four are in converted barns in the entrance courtyard of the Masseria. The eighth bedroom is in the gate house (also occupied by the friendly couple who takes care of the cleaning, cooking and maintenance of pool and grounds) and is perfect for a babysitter, a driver or independent teenagers. There is also a massage room, and a massuese is available on request.

Outside: The Masseria is set on a private estate of six hectares. The main outside living area at Masseria Acquadolce is the large garden that is reached from the series of doors from the living and dining room and the kitchen. This area is dominated by a superb pool surrounded by stylish sun loungers and plenty of shady areas. The dining table is conveniently located under a jasmine scented shady pergola overlooking the pool, in front of the kitchen door and beside the external kitchen and barbeque area. The garden also features a small olive grove with shaded lawns.
Masseria Acquadolce also has two smaller courtyards, one in the entrance with a couple of tall palm trees, the other beside the kitchen features olive and fruit trees.
A climb up the steep staircase to the roof is rewarded by panoramic views of the house and grounds and extensive views over the surrounding countryside. This is a great spot for an evening drink, and Moroccan lanterns add to the atmoshpere.
