A panoramic sea-front villa with pool… a summer house par excellence!

On the rocks above a gentle descent to the blue, blue sea and within a few steps of a fabulous sea-front restaurant, Lo Scoglio could be described as "having it all". Recently refurbished to an excellent standard, the lines are clean, the colours fresh, the views enchanting, and the pool hanging over the sea rare indeed...

But the best was swimming in the sea off the rocks down below in that gin-clear blue water. Great snorkeling, too. Gladly would I rent the place again next year. We loved staying there." About the Property


Inside: the house is on two floors which communicate via the terrace. On the top floor, with stunning sea views and shaded terraces are a living/dining room and two double bedrooms. Behind them with views of the garden are a third bedroom, two bathrooms and a bright, well equipped kitchen.
Downstairs, with access to a large terrace is a spacious and stylishly furnished living room with adjoining changing room and bathroom.

Outside: the house is surrounded by lawns and terraces, with stunning sea views. The panoramic pool is situated on terracing to the right of the house looking out to sea. There are plenty of shaded spots for relaxing on the high quality external furniture and for dining al fresco to the gentle sound of the sea at any time of day or night.

Exploring the local Area

Marina di Novaglie is a charming sea front community just 15 minutes drive from Leuca. The delightfully characteristic fishing harbour carved into the rock is the setting for the superb restaurant lo Scalo, which is just a minute's walk from lo Scoglio.
Swimming from in front of the villa is glorious, and there are plenty of other opportunities for swimming and snorkling up and down this picturesque coast.
Santa Maria di Leuca and its marina offer the advantages of a lively resort town during the season, and just past Leuca are some lovely sandy beaches. Just a few minutes drive inland on the other hand will give you the opportunity to explore some charming villages with their pristeen baroque architecture and laid back Mediterranean lifestyle.

Lovely Baroque Lecce is just an hour's drive away, as is the fortified island town of Gallipoli.

"Our entire family absolutely loved this vacation. We thought the area was the most beautiful place any of us has ever been! This was our third trip to Puglia... and we love it there. This experience was the easiest partly because we'd learned a lot in our last two trips there but also a lot of it was due to how terrifically easy the Thinking Traveller made it to plan ahead and to have on the spot assistance from Carmen.... The cook/dinner was fabulous on our arrival! The wine delivery made us VERY happy! The grocery hamper we ordered in advance was extremely helpful. And we did have Carmen reserve us a spot on a wonderful tour boat... Would we recommend The Thinking Traveller? Absolutely! Without any reservation at all!!! "

"I have rarely seen a seacoast house so beautifully situated, sitting atop that volcanic rock, featuring ocean views that are a treat to the eye. There was one short moment of rain during the entire two weeks we were there, the rest of the days brought nothing but brilliant clear blue skies and strong sun. The house itself is wonderfully equipped, especially the kitchen and dining room. Our cooking at home, however, consisted of five dinners and of course daily breakfasts. No need to cook at home what with two wonderful restaurants within an easy minute's walk from the gate. Lo Scalo features very nice food, but so does Laguna Blu. Thus no need to worry about driving home---you can drink all the wine you want and make it home in one piece. The swimming pool was a definite asset. But the best was swimming in the sea off the rocks down below in that gin-clear blue water. Great snorkeling, too. Visiting nearby towns was a lovely side venture, especially wandering through the tight streets of Gallipoli and exploring Otranto and Lecce. Gladly would I rent the place again next year. We loved staying there."
